Last week, Patricia Rizzo from Philips spoke at length about how they designed the statue of liberty to stand out at night, comforting as an anchor of light. She also mentioned that designing for darkness needs to be done very subtlely and one must "respect the night". Respect the night - was a phrase that stood out to me. At night, during sensory deprivation of our sight, restaurants and other places are open for business. They need to respect the night but at the same time, attract people in. My context for this week's assignment was photographing 100 different ways of attraction during night-time. Because I was shooting mainly during the night, I had to learn the best way to capturing photographs with very little light. This helped me learn that I needed to maintain a low shutter speed, higher iso and so forth. I also ensured to have a subject in every picture as Skylar suggested.
